Privacy Policy

Last updated: May 3, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Promta handles information when you use the app.

1. Overview

Your privacy is important. Promta is designed to keep your prompt library local to your devices and to minimize data collection.

The app does not require account creation, and the developer does not sell your personal information.

2. Information Stored in the App

Promta lets you create and manage AI prompts and related content.

Depending on the features you use, the following data may be stored locally on your device or in the app group shared by the app and keyboard extension:

  • Prompt titles and text
  • Tags and organization data
  • Custom models, favorites, and app preferences
  • Usage counters and feature state such as prompt usage, AI usage, onboarding, and subscription status
  • A shared prompts file used by the optional keyboard extension after you sync prompts for keyboard access

This information is stored using Apple system technologies and remains under your control.

3. iCloud / CloudKit Sync

Promta can use Apple CloudKit to sync your app data across devices signed in to the same Apple ID.

  • Data is associated with your Apple ID.
  • Apple provides the cloud infrastructure used for this sync.
  • The developer does not operate a separate Promta account system for this feature.
  • Apple manages encryption and storage.

Learn more from Apple’s privacy information and CloudKit documentation.

4. AI Features

The app offers optional AI-based prompt improvement features.

  • On supported devices, improvements may be generated on-device using Apple system AI technologies.
  • When those system AI features are unavailable, the app falls back to local text processing instead of a developer-run cloud AI service.
  • Prompt text used for improvement is processed locally on your device and is not transmitted to the developer's servers.

5. Keyboard Extension

Promta includes an optional keyboard extension.

The keyboard:

  • Displays saved prompts selected by the user
  • Inserts prompts into text fields when tapped
  • Reads synced prompt data from the shared app group container used by the main app

The keyboard does not record keystrokes, collect personal typing data, or transmit what you type.

6. macOS Accessibility (Auto-Paste)

On macOS, Promta includes an optional Auto-Paste feature that automatically pastes a copied prompt into the active text field after copying from the menu bar.

This feature requires macOS Accessibility permission, which you can grant or revoke at any time in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.

  • Accessibility access is used solely to simulate a paste keyboard shortcut (⌘V) in the previously active application
  • Promta does not read, monitor, or record any content from other applications
  • Promta does not capture keystrokes, screen content, or any other input from your system
  • The feature is disabled by default for users who have not granted Accessibility access

Accessibility permission is never used for any purpose other than delivering the copied prompt to the active text field.

7. Purchases and Subscriptions

Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store.

The developer does not receive payment information such as credit card numbers or billing details.

Promta may store and process purchase state such as your active entitlement, product identifier, expiration date, Lifetime Access purchase state, and restore status so paid features can work correctly.

If you have both a subscription and a Lifetime Access purchase, the app may process both records to determine entitlement status.

8. Analytics and Tracking

Promta uses Firebase Analytics to measure app usage and product performance.

Analytics events may include app opens, onboarding progress, prompt creation and usage, AI feature usage, guide activity, keyboard interaction counts, subscription events, platform, locale, and selected product identifiers.

Analytics are not used for third-party advertising, and Promta is not designed to track you across other companies’ apps or websites.

You can reduce analytics data sharing by limiting ad tracking in Apple privacy settings (Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking) or by disabling analytics sharing in iCloud settings.

Firebase Analytics retains event data for up to 14 months by default.

The analytics implementation does not send prompt text. It may send app-generated identifiers such as prompt IDs, installation/app instance identifiers, and subscription product IDs.

9. Data Retention and Deletion

You may delete your data at any time by:

  • Removing content inside the app
  • Deleting the app from your device
  • Turning off iCloud for the app in Apple settings if you do not want CloudKit sync

Promta retains local data until you delete it. Data synced through iCloud/CloudKit is retained under Apple's systems until removed from your iCloud account or backup lifecycle.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your region, you may have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or restriction/objection for personal data processed by the developer.

EU/EEA residents (GDPR): You have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, and to object to processing. Where processing is based on legitimate interests, you may object at any time.

California residents (CCPA): You have the right to know what personal information is collected, to delete it, and to opt out of its sale. Promta does not sell personal information.

Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw consent at any time.

To make a privacy request, contact the developer email in this policy. Additional identity verification may be required before completing requests.

11. International Data Transfers

Service providers used by Promta may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States.

For transfers from the EU/EEA, the developer relies on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) and other legal mechanisms provided by those service providers (including Google and Apple) to ensure adequate protection for your personal data.

12. Service Providers

Promta relies on third-party providers for limited functionality:

  • Apple (App Store billing, CloudKit/iCloud sync, and system services)
  • Google Firebase Analytics (usage analytics and product performance metrics)
  • Google Firebase Remote Config (remote paywall and feature configuration; may collect device and installation identifiers)

These providers process data under their own terms and privacy policies.

13. Children’s Privacy

Promta is not directed toward children under 13 years of age and is not intended to knowingly collect personal data from children.

If you believe a child has provided personal information through Promta, contact the developer so appropriate deletion steps can be taken.

14. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically.

If updates are material, Promta will provide reasonable notice in-app, on the website, or through App Store update notes before the updates take effect.

Continued use of the app after the effective date indicates acceptance of the updated policy.
